Mommy Josh

Meet mommy Josh.  My job gives me a very unique schedule in that at times I am home many consecutive days of the week, all day long, in the middle of the week while it seems that the other 99% of working people are Monday-Friday 8:00-5:00ish.  This presents me the opportunity to participate in many mommy activities that other dads do not get to enjoy.

Today for example. I went with Kirsten to the library at 10:15 for "story time" (pictured above).  I was the only male there over the age of 4.  We sang songs, danced, played with toys and read books.  I also get to participate in many "play dates" at the parks in our neighborhood during the week with other moms and their kids.  I sit right in the middle of the mommy circle and get to hear all the gossip that is going on as well as get updated on the bachelor.

During some of these weekdays that I am home all day Kirsten goes out and meets with clients and I think this gives me a certain element of fatherhood that others miss out on as well.  Spending all day with your kid(s) for several days at a time gives you a little appreciation for what mom's do.  I fix all the meals, change all the diapers, do the laundry, play a lot of wrestling games, and get him ready for nap time/bed by reading books, taking baths etc...

Now, I do nowhere near the amount of work that Kirsten does as a mom but I am just saying that I have some good mommy stuff going on.  Heck, I even blog!!!

You should start playing Bunco. And maybe host craft night?

Fantastic post. You're a very privileged dad. Most don't get to enjoy the experiences you're having with Jett.
