#17 Utah State...Fans
During the WAC championship game that Utah State won last night, the announcers said that the Utah State fans were maybe the smartest fans in the entire country. The point was made that one of the reasons that Utah State can't seem to improve their strength of schedule is because nobody will agree to come to Logan and play the Aggies at home in the Spectrum. Not even BYU dares to play in Logan even though we will play in Provo. They always demand a neutral site like Salt Lake. It's too big of a risk for powerful schools from the east to risk the embaressment of losing a game to the overlooked Aggies, so they just don't come.
From Wikipedia:
"The crown jewel of Aggie athletics has long been the men's basketball team, which plays in the Dee Glen Smith Spectrum, which has been called one of the nation's top 5 loudest and toughest places for opposing teams to play. The Spectrum seats 10,270, and features seats for students and other fans that are at court level and extremely close to the players. USU basketball is 157-12 at home during the Stew Morrill era, has received 6 NCAA Tournament berths in the last ten years, and has amassed more wins than any team in the nation except Duke, Kansas, and Gonzaga during that time.[7] During the 2008-09 season, USU's ranking in the ESPN/USA Today Coaches' Poll rose as high as #17 " p.s. We are number #17 again this year...
I am excited that BYU had such a great year and I think Jimmer is unbelievable. Having said that I will always hold true to my opinion that Utah State has the best college basketball team (and fans) in Utah and has ever since Stew Morrill arrived. He is a nice guy by the way...always tipped well when I delivered him pizza :)
Here's to the Scotsman and Go Aggies Go Aggies hey hey hey! Kansas State better watch out...

I don't think I'd say the BEST b-ball team in the state but I am more than willing to admit they are the most consistent in the state for sure. I am glad we always demand a neutral court...I wouldnt want to play in Logan. Kansas St struggles away from home so you have that going for you, their coach scares the crap out of me. Tell your aggies to keep a safe distance from him!
